Convey bulk materials from large granules to submicron powders
Flexible screw conveyors (also known as spiral conveyor or auger conveyor) are typically used to move materials between bulk bag dischargers, storage vessels, manual sack tip or drum tip stations, screeners, crushers, blenders, reactors, packaging equipment, injection molding and extrusion machines, and other process equipment.
Only one moving part—the stainless steel screw auger—contacts the material in a UniTrak flexible screw conveyor. The material is not in contact with bearings or seals because our simple, durable design has no need of the filters, internal bearings, cyclone separators, and other moving parts required by rigid augers, drag chains or pneumatic conveyors.
The rotating stainless steel screw auger self-centers within the tube, and conveys the product through its rotational movement.
No filters or bearings. Nothing to trap particles or breed contamination. At the intake end of the conveyor tube a removable cleanout cap allows your operator to quickly empty and flush the tube. Simply remove the cleanout cap and reverse rotation to remove any residual material. The screw auger and outer tube can also be removed for thorough cleaning.
Unlike a TipTrak™ bucket elevator, a flexible screw conveyor is not designed for, or suited to, 24/7 operation. With intermittent operation, it's a reliable, cost-effective performer for an extensive range of powder and granular type materials.
