Bulk material handling solutions

for conveying snack foods, cereals, rice, pasta

Select your area of interest below. The UniTrak solutions we describe come from over 35 years’ experience solving the specific handling challenges of the food industry.

Challenge: Avoiding breakage of very fragile products, such as potato crisps and extruded or pellet snacks, whilst elevating from inspection table to distribution systems; or when feeding to form/fill/seal; or when conveying from fryer.
Solution:

TipTrak™—the gentlest of all conveyors. TipTrak bucket elevators run on a continuous rubber “chain” with no moving parts.

Our many customers around the world have typically chosen an Open Mesh TipTrak™ bucket conveyor, with steel mesh or Lexan® guarding. (Some customers with dust-containment issues have chosen a PEC TipTrak™.)

Products being handled by TipTrak™

For high-temperature applications, such as handling hot chips from the fryer, we developed a food-grade nylon bucket and belting that will resist product temperatures of up to 190°C.

TipTrak™ bucket conveyor FAQ

Challenge: Convey very friable, dry, hot products (e.g. pasta elbows, penne, vermicelli, egg noodles) from dryer to pre-dryer, or from dryer to intermediate storage or packaging, without damage to product.
Solution:

A TipTrak™ bucket elevator protects your product with the gentlest handling of any mechanical conveyor. Heat issues are resolved with the use of food-grade, heat-resistant buckets and belting.

Most of our customers for dryer applications have chosen an Open Mesh Model TipTrak™ bucket elevator.

Solution: If product breakage is less of a concern (e.g. for bran, salt, starches, flour, yeast, rice, flavourings, dry pasta mix, etc), a flexible screw conveyor or a Powderflight™ aeromechanical conveyor deliver reliable, dust-free throughput. (Note: these conveyor systems, unlike TipTrak™, are not suitable for continuous use.)
Challenge:

Low-maintenance handling of very dusty products, such as pasta mixes.

Where dust is an issue, a TipTrak’s continuous rubber “chain” has no moving parts and requires no lubrication. Dust has no place to adhere and harden. Maintenance and cleaning downtime are dramatically reduced. TipTrak™ bucket elevators

When dust containment is also a concern, our customers typically choose a PEC model TipTrak™
